Ghost and Empty Shapes (2017-2018)
I think I must be drawing the ghosts of stones and rocks, the empty shapes of their afterimages, imprints in a bright desert landscape. Ghost and Empty Shapes consists of works made by drawing and photographing, and by marks made by walking, tracing/rubbing, and collecting in a desert landscape. My impulse to continue drawing shapes of the desert stones long after I was among them, is evidence of their afterimage still in my mind. Drawings are arranged in panels composed of handmade flax paper, cyanotype prints, and BFK.
