Paper in the Apple Tree (November 2020 - February 2021)
Place a sheet of paper in the old apple tree. Hold the paper in place with 2 rocks.
Wait for the rain.
For what reason?
To emboss the markings of the aged bark?
To cast the shapes and textures?
To hang like lichen on the limbs?
A lady bug winters in a fold, protected by a rock.
The paper returns to the tree, returns to pulp.
Oh,
it is for this reason.
That I can see the tree through the paper, until it dries again, brown leaves collaged like winter recorded.
